The Home is the result of the thoughtfulness and vision of the New Hampshire Masonic Brethren many years ago and stands today as New Hampshire Freemasonry's primary charitable endeavor.
In 1882, a resolution was passed at the Annual  Communication of Grand Lodge of New Hampshire, establishing a Masonic Orphan's Home. In 1883 the New Hampshire Legislature passed an Act that incorporated the Orphan's Home. In 1901 the same body passed an Act that changed the name to "Masonic Home".
In 1895 land was purchased for the purpose of erecting a suitable building as soon as money was available. On July 8, 1902 the cornerstone was laid for the Masonic Home and the building was dedicated on May 11, 1903 and the first Guest was admitted on January 14, 1904. The building has had three major additions since originally built and has a capacity of fifty-two guests, thirty-eight assisted living and fourteen nursing home
The main source of funding for the operation of the Masonic Home is a large endowment fund that is the result of countless generous donations and bequests, mostly from the Masons of New Hampshire. With the continued financial support of today's and tomorrow's Masons, the Home will be able to provide a safe, comfortable environment for Masons, their wives, widows, and the Public Sector for many years to come.
